At 12 years old, Elizabeth's grandmother taught her the art and life skill of making natural soap. Over the last 24 years, Elizabeth has honed and perfected this skill, launched Rhode Island Natural Soap Co and now also teaches her craft in workshops across Rhode Island. She is the only certified soapmaker in Rhode Island with the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetics Guild and is also the RI representative of The Guild. Elizabeth resides in Lincoln, Rhode Island with her husband and their six children.

What inspired you to make this project?
My grandmother taught me how to make soap when I was 12 years old. During my last maternity leave in 2017, I launched RI Natural Soap Co to get us through my 12 week work leave. Since then, we have scaled up our operation twice and now teach workshops to expand the soapmaking community here in Rhode Island and to educate the general public about handcrafted soap.
