A New Jersey native currently residing in Rhode Island, Savannah Marie Barkley is an interdisciplinary artist interested in object collection and curation, interactive spaces and natural materials. After graduating from RISD in 2017 she founded Sir Milky Quartz an online and pop-up retail platform selling vintage and handmade goods. Inspired by her love of nature her collection is brought to life by found material and locally sourced unique vintage pieces. Under the brand Sir Milky Quartz she launched a line of bags made with foraged plants which are pressed and then delicately sewn into the lining of each piece for a one-of-a-kind reusable bag option. With Sir Milky Quartz, Savannah aims to create a unique retail experience through careful curation and nuanced touches which bridge a gap between product and fine art.
